A Real Teacher by Roger Thomson I
was walking with a friend past a wonderful Buddha statue just as a school teacher
was talking to a group of seven year olds. We heard her say: "This man
began a religion based on kindness. He believed that we should be kind to all
creatures, even spiders." I felt deeply that, whatever I ever tell anybody
about Buddhism, it would never be more to the point than that. I felt humbled
in the presence of such a clear minded teacher.
